Throughout the entire cycle of deployment, the USO is there to support service members and their families.
Deployed Service Members
As deployments continue, and brave Americans – some from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut – are serving in harm’s way, the needs of the military change and so do the program offerings of the USO. To further ensure the mission readiness of our deployed service members, our programs, developed in concert with the national USO effort, are designed to keep families connected and to regularly send reminders of support from the home front to those far away from home. Working with Family Readiness Groups (FRGs) and local military units, the USO is there to provide support throughout the entire cycle of deployment.
These gifts of appreciation are filled with things you can't simply just get in the desert and when away from home.
Free pre-paid international phone cards are made available to service members at our airport facility, deployment events and when serving overseas.
MEGS provide the troops with a portable, self-contained multimedia gaming system that is delivered anywhere in the world.
Just in time for the holiday season, thousands of USO Big Apple Packs are assembled by caring volunteers and distributed to remote outposts in Afghanistan and military units serving far from home.
